To shave effectively you want a rigid, precisely controlled blade like in the Henson. Imagine cutting anything with a wobbly knife—it wouldn't work well and shaving is no different.

Using more blades means more unnecessary passes across your skin. A single blade lets you shave precisely as much as needed, greatly reducing irritation. Also, with a multi-blade razor, once the leading blade dulls, the shave becomes too painful anyways, rendering the remaining blades useless. Essentially, you're paying for five blades but throwing most of them out while they’re potentially still sharp.

Not the Henson. We precisely machined and controlled the dimensions of the Henson razor so the blade gap is similar to the blade gaps found in multi-blade razors. You’ll have the same level of safety using a Henson as you would using a multi-blade.

No, the Henson uses standard double edged safety razors you can buy anywhere.

Yes, we’ve tested the Henson all over the human body and are confident you’ll get a great shave no matter where you’re shaving.

First, it's precision. By CNC machining our Henson razors (as opposed to molding or casting), and anodizing them for protection (as opposed to painting or plating), we are able to target and maintain specific sizes and reduce the necessary allowance so that critical features of our razors are kept consistent within a thousandth of an inch. This ensures a straight and consistently loaded blade every time, meaning that the blade is presented to your skin the same every shave!

Second, it’s the shortest blade extension on the market. Shorter blade extension means less vibration in the blade (chatter). Less chatter means less irritation and a better shave every time.

Yes, the Henson razor has large channels through the head behind the blade that rinse out easily with water.

We expect you should be able to get 4-6 shaves easily with a fresh blade. From there, it comes down to personal preference and your skin’s tolerance. With blades costing only 10-12 cents, you don’t have to worry about stretching the life of a blade out. Swap a new blade in and enjoy more comfortable shaves.

After you shave, rinse the razor to clean it of any hair and shaving cream. Then store on it’s side, resting the short side of the head on the counter (or on the Henson stand) in a dry place. We do not recommend storing it in the shower. Then once a month or as needed using a soft bristle brush (like an old toothbrush) and some soap you can gently scrub the razor to remove any potential cream/water residue that may build up on the razor.

We don’t suggest throwing used blades directly in the garbage. Double-edge blades are metal and fully recyclable; they can be disposed of in a blade bank.

You can purchase a blade bank specifically for razor blades or you can use a small jar, box, or other container. Your local pharmacy or drugstore may even supply you with a sharps container at no charge.

It can take years to fill up, at which point you can place it in your recycling or bring it to a metal/sharps recycling facility (depending on your local guidelines).
